In honor of National Breastfeeding Month, Aspirus Health is spotlighting the care and support that help parents feel confident, informed, and empowered on their breastfeeding journey, before and after baby arrives. From individualized lactation consultations to virtual classes, Aspirus aims to ensure every mother feels prepared and supported on their breastfeeding journey.

The journey begins well before birth. During routine OB visits, expecting parents at Aspirus receive evidence-based educational materials that cover pregnancy milestones and breastfeeding basics. For those seeking a deeper dive, Aspirus offers one-on-one lactation consultations during pregnancy and postpartum, tailored to each mother and baby.

“Aspirus provides breastfeeding support to moms during pregnancy and postpartum,” said Bailey Trzebiatowski, RN, a labor and delivery nurse and lactation counselor at Aspirus Health. “Every consult is customized. We cover latch, pre- and post-weighted feeds, and address any pumping or breastfeeding concerns. We support families both in the hospital and in our clinics.”

“We make it easy for families to get help, whether through your OB provider, pediatrician, or directly through a consult,” Trzebiatowski continues. “Our goal is to ensure every mom feels confident and connected with support from pregnancy through postpartum.”

During hospital stays, lactation consultants work with new mothers immediately after birth to establish breastfeeding and answer questions. After discharge, ongoing support is available through in-person visits, phone, or email consultations. Pediatricians at Aspirus can also coordinate care with lactation staff, allowing parents to receive integrated guidance in a single appointment.
