Aspirus Research Institute

Founded in 1996 as the CARE Foundation, the Aspirus Research Institute (ARI) began as a community-funded initiative led by a dedicated cardiologist who recognized the need for clinical research opportunities in central Wisconsin. As the region continued to grow, so did the need for access to innovative treatments, technologies, and medications that were often only available at larger academic medical centers.

In 2011, the CARE Foundation formally joined Aspirus and became the Aspirus Research Institute. This partnership expanded access to patient-centered clinical research and strengthened our ability to bring advanced treatment options to the communities we serve, with a particular focus on cardiovascular disease and other specialty areas.

Today, ARI offers a robust clinical trials program that is uncommon for a health system of Aspirus' size. Through Phase II, III, and IV clinical trials, patients in central Wisconsin have access to promising new therapies and treatments close to home, opportunities that are often only available at much larger institutions.

Our experienced principal investigators and research teams conduct studies across a wide range of medical and surgical specialties, including both acute and chronic conditions. If a clinical trial may be appropriate for your care, your physician will discuss available opportunities with you and help determine whether participation is right for you.

Aspirus Research Institute is committed to conducting research with the highest standards of ethics, safety, and regulatory compliance. All research activities are conducted in accordance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations to ensure the protection of our patients and research participants.
