Contract Negotiations with Anthem Wisconsin

What’s Happening?

At Aspirus Health, our mission is to heal people, promote health and strengthen communities. Each year, our care teams serve hundreds of thousands of patients through an integrated network of excellent facilities and providers. 

To sustain these many access points and the excellent, compassionate care our community members trust and deserve, we need greater support from the insurers who reimburse Aspirus for the care we deliver. As a result, we are negotiating for a more fair and equitable agreement with Anthem Wisconsin. 

Our existing agreement expires after December 31, 2025. For now, nothing changes for our patients and we are optimistic we will be able to come to a fair and equitable agreement to protect access to the Aspirus hospitals, clinics and providers you deserve, as well as our affiliated partner providers in Aspirus Network Inc. (ANI). 

Why is this important?

As we navigate rising costs, a challenging labor market and historic Medicaid cuts, our existing agreement no longer covers the cost of the care our providers deliver. We are simply working to ensure we can continue providing convenient access to the excellent care you deserve.  

Nothing changes for now. However, if the parties are unable to find common ground and reach an agreement, Aspirus facilities will be considered out of network for those with Anthem Wisconsin coverage after December 31, 2025.
