Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Program

Aspirus offers paid CNA Trainings in partnership with our local technical colleges of Northcentral Technical College (Wausau, WI), Nicolet College (Rhinelander, WI), and Mid-State Technical College (Wisconsin Rapids, WI) throughout the year. Frequency is dependent upon Aspirus location needs.

Program Information

  • This program is 5 weeks in length
  • Aspirus pays for the CNA course and related course fees
    • Includes: scrubs, textbooks, and reimbursement for licensing exam
  • An additional stipend for missed wages is paid to you for your time in the program
  • The class hours & clinicals times will be dependent on the school & class start date 
    • Labs – first 4 weeks of the course
    • Clinicals - the last week of the course
  • Acceptance into the program also means accepting a post-program position with Aspirus, pending successful completion of all pre-employment requirements
    • Note: CNAs at Aspirus can earn stackable shift differentials for PM’s, Nights, and Weekends

Program Requirements

  • A commitment to working as a CNA with Aspirus for at least one year, with a minimum of 48 hours per 2-week period
    • Accommodations are available for students
  • Upon applying for a spot in one of our sponsored classes, you will need to interview with a hiring manager and recruiter, complete a job shadow, a background check, and health screening

Frequently Asked Questions

How often is a sponsored class run?

Sponsored CNA classes are generally run in the spring, summer, and fall months.

When are classes typically posted to apply for?

Classes are typically posted 3 months prior to the start of the program.

Do I have to re-complete orientation if I already work for Aspirus?

No, you will not need to re-complete, but may be launched a couple extra learning modules in HealthStream.

When does the stipend get paid out?

You will receive the stipend within the first couple weeks of the program.

How do I get reimbursed for the licensure exam?

You will need to submit a receipt of your payment and a reimbursement form to your OL&D contact. This will take a few weeks to process before showing up on your paycheck.

Am I allowed to get hired at a different Aspirus location than the one I complete clinicals at?

Yes, you can be hired at any Aspirus location that has an opening.

What happens if I need to miss a class?

Please coordinate all missed class time with your instructor, but as a reminder, you can only miss a certain amount of time due to the rigor of this program.

How do I pick up my class materials – books, scrubs, etc.?

Aspirus will place a bookstore form for you about a week prior to your start date, which at that time, you can go to your corresponding school’s bookstore to pick up your materials.
