Volunteer Opportunities

Aspirus Riverview offers a variety of volunteer opportunities to choose from, including:

  • Hospital Escorts — Greet, direct and assist patients and visitors from 8 a.m. to noon or noon to 4 p.m. weekdays, as fits your schedule.
  • Greeters — Greet and direct patients and visitors from 8 a.m. to noon or noon to 4 p.m. weekdays, as fits your schedule.
  • Gift Shop - Greet shoppers and perform basic cashiering duties. Gift shop is open 9 am  to 3:30 pm Monday-Thursday, and 10 am to 2 pm Friday (closed weekends and holidays). Shifts available as fits your schedule.
  • Surgery/Outpatient Waiting Room - Assist the loved ones of surgery and outpatient procedure patients. Duties include communicating messages between nursing staff and family, answering questions, giving directions, making coffee, and taking messages for families if they need to leave the waiting area.
  • Cancer Center Waiting Room - Provide a warm and comforting atmosphere for patients and their loved ones while they are receiving treatment at Aspirus Riverview Cancer Center. Serve coffee, ice water, cookies and a limited number of patient lunches from the hospital cafeteria.
  • Home Delivered Meals Drivers — Deliver hot, nutritious noon meals to recipients in the Wisconsin Rapids, Biron, Nekoosa or Port Edwards areas. Shifts are from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays, as fits your schedule.
  • VolunTeens — Teenagers 16 and older greet and direct patients and visitors. May also assist as a hospital escort. Shifts available are from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and/or four-hour shifts between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. weekends, as fits your schedule.
  • Lifeline Installers — Install Lifeline personal response units in subscribers' homes (about twice a month as needed). Installations take about 1 hour and are typically scheduled on weekdays between 9 am and 3 pm.

Please Note: Volunteer Requirements Include:

  • Appointment and medical health screening with our Employee Health office.
  • Completion of the State of Wisconsin caregiver background check form.
  • Successful completion of Aspirus Riverview Hospital orientation and competencies.
  • Commitment of volunteer service for a minimum of three months.
