Delivering joy while working for Aspirus Health Food Services

Lori Jennejohn wasn’t sure what she was getting into when she joined the Aspirus Health team last November – right during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Wausau area.

Today, she couldn’t be happier with her decision.

“I saw an advertisement for an opening as a cook,” said Lori. “I was a little reluctant at first with the COVID pandemic going on, but everything has worked out.”

Lori has worked in the food industry most of her life, but she wasn’t fond of working in a factory environment. So, she made the jump to food services in health care.

She’s able to make a more personal connection with people at Aspirus Wausau Hospital (AWH).

“I’m not in a patient’s room, but I feel like I’m able to bring a little joy to someone,” claims Lori. “I can make someone’s day by customizing their order or doing simple things such as putting extra effort into their good preparation.”

The AWH Food Service department is always looking for great new additions to the team such as Lori.

“You’ll love it,” says Lori. “There’s tons of growth and opportunity here. You can go as far as you want to go.”
