Aspirus Wausau Hospital Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for Expansion Project

Leaders from Aspirus Health, HGA, Miron Construction and the local community gathered Friday, May 8, to celebrate a major milestone in the future of health care in northcentral Wisconsin during a groundbreaking ceremony for the Aspirus Wausau Hospital expansion project.

Dozens of attendees participated in the ceremony, which recognized the continued growth of Aspirus Wausau Hospital and the organization’s long-term commitment to expanding access to high-quality care across the region.

The multi-year expansion project is designed to support the evolving needs of patients, families and care teams while strengthening Aspirus Wausau Hospital’s ability to provide advanced, specialized care close to home.

The ceremony featured remarks from Aspirus leaders, representatives from Miron Construction and local officials before participants took part in the official groundbreaking.

Construction on the expansion project is expected to continue through 2028.
