Aspirus St. Luke’s Welcomes Occupational Therapist Rachel Seibert, MS, OTR/L

Aspirus St. Luke’s Hospital – Occupational Therapy is pleased to welcome Occupational Therapist Rachel Seibert, MS, OTR/L. She specializes in mental health occupational therapy and pediatric patients.

Seibert earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy degree from The College of St. Scholastica. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to becoming an occupational therapist, she worked in mental and behavioral health roles supporting children, adults, and families across a variety of settings. In addition to working at ASL, she serves as a board member for NAMI Duluth.

“Throughout my life, I've been inspired to help people navigate mental and behavioral health challenges in ways that support their unique goals and strengths," said Seibert. "What I love most about occupational therapy is the opportunity to meet people where they are and empower them to participate more fully in the everyday activities that are meaningful to them."

Mental health occupational therapy can complement services provided by psychiatrists and psychologists. Patients may benefit from a mental health occupational therapy referral when they are having trouble with:

-Establishing or maintaining healthy daily routines and habits
-Initiating, organizing or completing everyday tasks
-Establishing healthy sleep routines and sleep hygiene
-Stress management, emotional regulation, and development of effective coping strategies
-Identifying meaningful activities and rebuilding engagement following depression, hospitalization, or other periods of decreased functioning
