Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital Birthing Center Earns Level I Maternal and Neonatal Care Designations

RHINELANDER, Wis.Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital is honored to share that its Birthing Center has been officially designated as a Level I Maternal Care Facility and Level I Neonatal Care Facility by the Wisconsin Association for Perinatal Care through the Wisconsin Levels of Care Program. These designations affirm the hospital’s ability to provide safe, high‑quality care for low‑risk mothers and newborns, aligned with national standards and supported by strong coordination across the state’s perinatal care system.

The Wisconsin Levels of Care Program evaluates hospitals based on their capabilities, resources, and readiness to deliver risk‑appropriate care. Achieving Level I status in both maternal and neonatal care recognizes Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital’s commitment to excellence, its skilled clinical teams, and its dedication to ensuring families receive the right care at the right time.

The Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital Birthing Center is designed to feel warm, comfortable, and family-centered - more like a private, calming environment than a traditional hospital setting. Labor and delivery suites include modern amenities to support comfort and personalization.

Amenities may include private rooms, comfortable furnishings, private bathrooms with hydrotherapy tubs, minifridges, aromatherapy, wireless monitoring, a wide array of birthing tools, and space for support persons.

The Wisconsin Levels of Care Designation Program is a voluntary statewide initiative designed to improve outcomes for mothers and babies by ensuring hospitals meet clearly defined standards for risk‑appropriate care.
