Aspirus Keweenaw expands outpatient therapy services with new occupational therapist

Aspirus Health is pleased to welcome Occupational Therapist (OT) Laura Polakowski to its excellent outpatient therapies team. As part of Aspirus’ ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive patient-centered care, Polakowski brings a wealth of experience and expertise to enhance outpatient therapy service. She is now seeing patients at Aspirus Outpatient Therapies in Houghton and Laurium.

An occupational therapist for eight years, Polakowski earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse in La Crosse, Wis., and her Master of Occupational Therapy degree from Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, Wis. She recently moved to the Keweenaw and is thrilled to be caring for people with the most individualized and compassionate care possible.

Occupational therapy plays a crucial role in helping individuals regain independence and improve their quality of life through targeted therapeutic interventions. Polakowski is dedicated to supporting patients on their journey to recovery by focusing on activities of daily living, functional mobility and individualized treatment plans.

Polakowski also specializes in pediatrics, sensory processing, emotional regulation, home health, fine and visual motor skills, and school-based therapy. She is experienced in working with children from birth to adulthood and developing individualized education programs (IEP) to instruct and support students to thrive in school.

“I am excited to join the exceptional team at Aspirus and contribute to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to the local community. I’m happy to be a resource for patients and help them regain independence in their daily lives and support their journey to optimal well-being.”

Polakowski resides in Houghton. Her interests include spending time with her husband, children and dogs. She is also an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
