Aspirus Health Announces Retirement of Nick Van Deelen, MD

Strong Transition Plan Ensures Continued Stability and Service

Aspirus Health has announced the retirement of Nick Van Deelen, MD, Senior Vice President & President of the Minnesota Market. Dr. Van Deelen has served Aspirus Health and the communities of Minnesota for many years with a deep commitment to patients, team members, and the community.

 

During his tenure, Dr. Van Deelen played a key role in advancing system integration and strengthening collaboration across the system following the affiliation of St. Luke’s and Aspirus in 2024. His clinical expertise and strong leadership have helped to position the organization for long-term success in Minnesota.

 

Aspirus Health has a robust leadership transition plan in place to ensure organizational stability. Jeff Wicklander, Senior Vice President & President of Aspirus’ Central Region, will provide focused leadership support to the Minnesota Market during the transition. A national search for Dr. Van Deelen’s successor is underway.
