Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital Supports Future Health Professionals at Wisconsin HOSA State Convention

PORTAGE, Wis.Aspirus Health strengthened its commitment to developing the next generation of healthcare professionals by supporting multiple events at this week’s Wisconsin Future Health Professionals State Convention (HOSA).

“Supporting HOSA students is an investment in the future of our workforce and the future of patient care,” said Annie Allen, Nursing Director at Aspirus Health. “These students are motivated, compassionate, and eager to learn. Giving them real‑world experiences inside our facilities helps them envision themselves as the next generation of caregivers in our communities.”

On Wednesday, April 1st, Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital hosted two State‑Level Competitive Events, Nursing Assisting and Surgical Technologist, students with a realistic, hands‑on clinical environment. Staff supporting the Nursing Assisting competition included Kim Johnson, Chief Nursing Officer; Ceci Oliveira, Emily Kabacinski, Dr. Jill Pogorelec, Dr. Lisa Mironovich, and Jaime Arnold. The Surgical Technologist event was supported by Nick Roth and Jessica Mell. Gina Nehmer and the event lead served as onsite event managers for both competitions.

In addition to the competitive events, Jane Walczak, Grant Seils, and Dylan Fiske delivered an interactive education session where students practiced intubation skills and participated in a healthcare‑themed trivia activity.

On Thursday, April 2nd, Aspirus team members Jazmine Berger, Jaime Arnold, and the event lead staffed the Aspirus booth at the HOSA State Convention Expo at the Kalahari. More than 2,500 students and advisors visited the booth to learn about Aspirus career pathways, job opportunities, and the wide range of roles available across the health system.
