With Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) running October 15 through December 7, Aspirus Health Plan is encouraging community members to act and make sure their coverage meets their needs for the 2026 plan year.

For some, the process may feel especially stressful this year. Certain Medicare Advantage plans are no longer being offered through their current carriers, leaving many to wonder what steps to take next.

“It is important not to delay if you need to make a change,” said Jim Fries, Aspirus Health Plan Director of Sales and Marketing. “Annual Enrollment Period is your chance to confirm your plan is still the right fit. If your Medicare Advantage plan is no longer available, you will need to review your options and select coverage that continues to give you access to the care and benefits you need.”

During Annual Enrollment Period, beneficiaries can switch from one Medicare Advantage plan to another, move from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage plan, or return to Original Medicare. This period is the one time each year when most changes are allowed.

“Meeting with a trusted representative or Medicare agent can take the confusion and stress out of the process,” said Fries. “Every person’s health needs are different, and reviewing your prescription and medical coverage ensures you have the right plan going into the new year.”

Aspirus Health Plan offers resources to help community members better understand their Medicare choices, including guides to plan options and enrollment support.
