Volunteer Opportunities at Aspirus Medford Hospital

Get in on the action, volunteer!

At Aspirus Medford Hospital, we believe strongly that a first-rate medical facility is a vital community resource and that being a hospital volunteer is an enjoyable way to make a positive impact in your community.

When you join, you will become part of a team devoted to creating a caring environment for patients, families and visitors.

Ways to make a positive difference may include:

  • Hospital – Provide reception and greeting services; perform patient care support and service tasks for hospital patients; participate in interdisciplinary team approaches to patient healing through ACE/NICHE program and post-operative recovery of patients who receive knee replacements; lend clerical and retail assistance to retail pharmacy, hospital cafeteria, café and gift shop and other departments; and gain insights and exposure to physical rehabilitation by lending support to the Therapy & Fitness Center.
  • Aspirus Care & Rehab – Provide companionship to residents through one-on-one visits that may include reading, Bible studies, collecting and writing life histories, playing cards or board games, and assisting with Wii or other electronic games. Lend help with large or small group activities, such as bingo, outdoor field trips and making crafts.
  • Community Benefit Events – Provide as-needed assistance (greeting, registering, directional guidance, recording of data) during health screening events that Aspirus Medford provides free-of-charge to the communities it serves.
  • Other Opportunities – We will try to match your skills and desire to help others with an assignment that supports the staff and patients of Aspirus Medford Hospital.

Switch’n It Up

“Switch’n It Up” is a six-week summer program held at Country Gardens led by teen volunteers.

For the past two summers, teen volunteers have led a wildly successful summer activity program at Country Gardens. The program is called, "Switch'n It UP! with Richa and Friends". Volunteers helped residents with art and science projects and even made Triller videos. A great time was had by all. To learn more, read on!
