Aspirus Langlade Hospital Volunteers

Who can be a volunteer?

We seek individuals who are eager to share their unique talents and are willing to dedicate a few hours per week or periodically.

To be a Volunteer, you will be asked to:

  • Complete an application
  • Complete confidentiality form
  • Complete lab work requirements
  • Complete an orientation and ongoing training
  • Meet training requirements
  • Participate in the flu vaccination program

Volunteer Training

An orientation session is provided for all new volunteers. At the orientation you will learn about the services provided at Aspirus Langlade Hospital, our vision and mission, patients’ rights and the importance of patient confidentiality. You will also be oriented to your specific area where you will be volunteering. Orientation additionally provide safety instructions concerning fire safety, infection control and security measures. Volunteers are considered members of the hospital family and are included in numerous hospital sponsored events, programs and screenings.

Volunteer Opportunities

Day Surgery/Elevator

A volunteers guides families to the elevator accessing the inpatient rooms on the second floor. Additionally, this volunteer offers support to families and patients in the surgical waiting room both before and after medical procedures. Families find reassurance knowing that a volunteer is available to assist them if necessary while they step away to grab coffee or visit the chapel.

Aspirus Health & Performance Center

Volunteers assist the staff by offering assistance, which may involve undertaking clerical duties. They also extend a warm welcome to visitors and family members, ensuring the entrance and lobby remain tidy and inviting, stocked with essentials like Kleenex and hand sanitizer. Additionally, they are proficient in using automated cuffs to measure blood pressure.

Pine Meadow & Rosalia Gardens

Volunteers are invited to engage residents in recreational pursuits like reading, card games, or crafting activities. Special talents are highly encouraged. Additionally, volunteers are sought after for weekend meal service assistance.

LeRoyer Hospice

Volunteers fulfill diverse roles to support both the terminally ill and their families through their journey. Specialized training is provided. Some volunteers offer companionship by visiting patients at home, while others assist with clerical tasks at the hospital and offer bereavement support.

Pet Therapy

Dogs and their handlers, certified through Pet Therapy International and having successfully passed the American Kennel Club's "Canine Good Citizen Test," are welcome to bring their pets in to offer social stimulation for our patients and staff.

Cancer Care Support

Volunteers have the opportunity to support the staff and patients at the Aspirus Cancer Care - Antigo - Volm Cancer Center by providing comfort through patient visits and offering beverages, coffee and snacks to patients and their accompanying guests.
