Kristen Hoyord, DNP, Receives Aspirus OME Joy Award

For the 7th year, the Office of Medical Education (OME) is recognizing the collaboration and contributions made by Aspirus Physicians and Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) as clinical teachers for medical students and advance practice clinician students. These Physicians and APCs recognize the importance of training up the next generation of medical professionals and embody the Mission, Vison, and Values of Aspirus.
This year’s Joy Award goes to Kristen Hoyord, an internal medicine nurse practitioner with Aspirus Plover Clinic - Vern Holmes Drive.
As a clinical teacher, Hoyord demonstrates enthusiasm, teaches with happiness, celebrates student and academic success, and consistently contributes to a positive learning environment.
One doctor of nursing practice student said, “Kristen is an absolute bundle of JOY! Her reassurance in teaching, and compassion to the population she serves is witnessed on a daily basis. You can tell she is not only an exemplary provider, but a leader within the organization. She strives for fiscal responsibility to her patients and organization, and approaches health care with an open minded perspective. Any student or patient would be lucky to have her.”
