Aspirus Medford Clinic to Help Families Say Boo to the Flu

(Medford, WI) – Aspirus Medford Clinic is offering a unique flu clinic on October 27 for children and families.

Boo to the Flu, is a Halloween-themed flu clinic being held at Aspirus Medford Clinic located at 143 South Gibson Street from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend all healthy children ages 6 months to adult get vaccinated against the seasonal flu, and Aspirus is making the experience of getting a seasonal flu shot more enjoyable and less scary for children.

Children who receive their flu shot during “Boo to the Flu” will receive a goody bag with healthy treats and toys, costumes are optional.

“The number one thing people can do to minimize their risk of getting the flu is getting the flu shot,” says Kerry Lingen, FNP-C, a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner at Aspirus Medford Clinic. “The benefit of preventing the flu outweighs many risks that people may worry about when getting the flu shot. If you have any concerns about the flu shot, talk to your medical provider or pharmacist.”
