Sports Medicine

Most orthopedic injuries do not require surgery. Our team diagnoses, treats and helps you rehabilitate smartly. Whether you are a top-notch athlete or a weekend gardener, we will help you feel on top of your game. From Tenex procedures for relief from tennis elbow to concussion assessments, we are here to keep you moving.

Preventive care is always best, but sometimes that advice comes too late. Our athletic trainers can provide you or your team with the knowledge and resources to prevent sports injuries with our on-site evaluations and education programs.

Aspirus Divine Savior can also provide customized athletic training and educational programs for injury prevention. We go from the clinic to classrooms, companies and beyond.

Non-Surgical Treatments

Some orthopedic conditions can be resolved without surgery. At Aspirus Divine Savior, you will find a wide range of non-surgical techniques that can effectively treat muscle and skeletal pain and address your lack of mobility. Our team includes experts in a variety of less-invasive, leading-edge techniques:

  • Diagnostic ultrasound with real-time imaging of soft tissues such as muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints.
  • Ultrasound-guided joint and soft-tissue injections more accurately reach sore spots for optimal healing and pain relief.
  • Regenerative medicine therapy, like platelet-rich plasma (PRP), for the treatment of chronic tendinopathy, arthritis and plantar fasciitis.
  • Tenex, a minimally invasive procedure designed to relieve pain from tendon damage, such as rotator cuff, tennis or golfer’s elbow, or runner’s knee.
  • Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Injection – PRP therapy uses injections of a concentration of a patient's own platelets to accelerate the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints.
  • Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) - is a set of hands-on techniques to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness or injury by moving a patient's muscles and joints using techniques that include stretching, gentle pressure and resistance.

Your Joint Journey - Hips, Knees, Shoulders

Joint replacement surgery is about much more than an expert repair or procedure. It’s about how you feel before, during and after. We customize an educational experience for you to help you through every step of your journey. When you feel better prepared and get the attention you need, you will experience a better outcome. Our goal is to ensure your stay with us is as pleasant and comfortable as possible.

We continue to evaluate and measure our performance to help ensure we provide the highest quality program possible, tailored to each individual patient. Our team meets regularly, with a focus on maintaining clinical and service excellence in all aspects of your joint replacement experience.

Our Comprehensive Approach

We have created a special program that brings together a team of experienced and skilled surgeons with caring and specially trained nurses, therapists and technicians. Our goal is to provide seamless, coordinated care and get you back to your favorite activities as soon as possible.

Our joint patients enjoy a special area within the hospital, created specialty to care for knee and hip replacement patients. No hospital gowns for this crowd – you get to wear your own clothes! And family members are encouraged to participate in group activities, meals and other special events. Exercise and therapy is also provided in a group setting, so that our patients can support and encourage one another on the road to recovery. New friendships are made, enhancing the healing process.
