Aspirus supports animal therapy in the Keweenaw

Aspirus Keweenaw employees Jenn Jenich-Laplander and Mariah Maggio present a $548 donation, on behalf of the Aspirus Keweenaw Health Foundation, to Roland and Gloria McKinstry of Calumet. The McKinstrys, along with Bowser, their Chocolate Lab and Golden Retriever mix, are animal therapy volunteers at Aspirus Keweenaw. They accepted the donation on behalf of Superior Land Pet Partners (SLPP), a local affiliate of Pet Partners Therapy Animal Group, which trains, tests and registers animal therapy volunteers. The funds were raised through Jeans Friday, an Aspirus Keweenaw employee fundraiser.

“We are so grateful for this donation,” said Patty Cornish, co-founder of SLPP. “It will be used to promote pet therapy in the Keweenaw.”
