Project will add primary, specialty and emergency care
STEVENS POINT – Community leaders joined Aspirus today for a groundbreaking ceremony at the Aspirus Stevens Point Clinic, 5409 Vern Holmes Drive.
The clinic is more than doubling in size with the construction of a 40,000-square-foot, two-story addition to provide space for walk-in, specialty and emergency services as well as future space for expanded services.
“This is an exciting day for Aspirus and for communities in the Stevens Point area,” said Matthew F. Heywood, president and chief executive officer with Aspirus. “We have experienced extremely rapid growth at this clinic in recent years, and this project will help us serve more people in more ways.”
The Stevens Point clinic currently offers primary care and walk-in care, as well as select specialty care such as orthopedics, GI, oncology and more. More Aspirus specialty care physicians are eager to serve patients at the clinic, but there simply isn’t the space.
“By expanding services in Stevens Point, Aspirus patients will be able to receive more care without having to leave the town,” Heywood said. “This will help us to improve the overall wellness of the community.”
Aspirus employs 50 people at the clinic, and expects to add another 50 jobs once the new addition is complete and fully occupied.
