Grief Services

Bereavement care is offered to the patient and family members. Grief support services include support in dealing with loss and grief, counseling and referral to other community services. Family members may be referred to and/or select bereavement support from other community agencies.

Aspirus also offers select bereavement services to the general community in some locations. These services focus on normal grief reactions and are not designed to meet the individual needs of a specific bereaved person.

Community grief support programs may include:

Central Wisconsin (Wausau)

  • Grief art
  • Tree of Love & holiday service
  • Memorial services (Wausau & Langlade)
  • Community education
  • Grief group resource

U.P. Michigan

  • Monthly grief support lunch/meeting (in Ontonagon and Houghton county)
  • Annual Service of Remembrance
  • Community education on hospice in general
  • Monthly mailing list of Journeys Newsletter for bereaved families

Grief Support

We anticipate more online and virtual events in the future and would like to expand our services into providing an email list to get communication out to bereaved in a most efficient manner.

If you would like to be on this list to receive program announcements and other grief content, your email address will be helpful.
