WISCONSIN RAPIDS – To honor organ, tissue, and eye donors and their loved ones, Aspirus Riverview Hospital will fly the Donate Life flag on Monday, April 5.
The Donate Life flag promotes the mission of organ, tissue, and eye donation; honors organ, tissue and eye donors and their loved ones; and encourages everyone to “Say Yes!” and register as an organ, tissue, and eye donor at DonateLifeWisconsin.org
“One donor can save and heal more than 75 lives,” said Chris Stines, President of Aspirus Riverview Hospital & Clinics. “By flying the Donate Life flag, we recognize the more than 1,600 Wisconsinites waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. We also honor the gift of life that donors and their families have made possible.”
If you would like to save and heal lives, please register as an organ, tissue, and eye donor at DonateLifeWisconsin.org or at a Wisconsin DMV Service Center. Anyone age 15-1/2 or older with a Wisconsin Drivers’ License or state ID can register as a donor regardless of age, health, gender or ethnic or racial background.
The Donate Life flag was first introduced in 2006. Since then, it has become a national symbol of unity, remembrance, and hope, while honoring those touched by donation and transplantation. The flag is flown on the first Monday morning of April to mark the start of National Donate Life Month.
