Aspirus Ontonagon donates first-aid kits to Ewen-Trout Creek Schools

EWEN, MI (Feb. 26, 2016) – Minor scrapes and scratches are bound to happen from time to time. That’s why a well-stocked first-aid kit is a handy thing to have on standby.

In February, Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital donated 25 first-aid kits, one for each classroom, at Ewen-Trout Creek School District. From antiseptic wipes and ointments, to gauze and adhesive bandages, each kit contains all the basic items needed to help treat minor cuts, scrapes, bumps and bruises.

The donation was made on behalf of Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital’s support and passion for community outreach efforts. Last year, Aspirus made a similar donation to Ontonagon Area School District.

“The students were really excited to receive the first-aid kits,” said Patti Witt, Ewen-Trout Creek Schools Fifth-Grade Teacher. “It’s always a wonderful thing to partner with Aspirus and expand our classroom curriculum.”
