Aspirus At Home expands hospice care in Western U.P.

Aspirus At Home has expanded services in Michigan’s Western Upper Peninsula (U.P.) to give residents of Gogebic and Ontonagon Counties and their surrounding areas greater local access to hospice care.

The service expansion adds hospice care and grief support to the wide range of offerings already provided by Aspirus At Home in the U.P. to meet the needs of patients wherever they are in their health care journey.

“Aspirus At Home has one of the best hospice programs serving Michigan and Wisconsin,” said Cindy Rider, vice president of post-acute care for Aspirus Health. “Expanding hospice care to this area of the U.P. is part of our commitment to give residents of rural areas access to high quality care and vital services regardless of where they live.”

Aspirus at Home now offers home care and hospice across the Western Upper Peninsula in and around the following areas:

  • Baraga
  • Hancock
  • Houghton
  • Ironwood
  • Keweenaw
  • Laurium
  • Ontonagon

Future plans for Aspirus At Home include the addition of home care and hospice services in all Iron County and parts of Dickinson and Marquette County.

“Our goal is to always keep patients comfortable, educate families and caregivers, and provide compassionate care where people are in their health care journey and feel most comfortable wherever they call home”, Rider said.

Aspirus at Home features a full offering of in-home services, including home health and hospice care, and bereavement care. For more information or to see what services are available near you, go online to aspirus.org.
