Aspirus Keweenaw to host meet and greet with Aspirus MedEvac

Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital & Clinics will host a fun and informative meet and greet with Aspirus MedEvac on Saturday, October 8, at 10:00 a.m.

Community members are invited to Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital & Clinics to meet and ask questions of the Aspirus MedEvac team.

“This is a great opportunity to get to know the dedicated teams who provide 24-hour emergency air and ground transport,” said Jenn Jenich-Laplander, regional communications and community engagement lead. “It’s been decades since a helicopter has landed in the local community, and this is a chance to learn what resources are available when transporting a patient is needed.”

Participants will enjoy an Aspirus MedEvac helicopter landing, one-on-one discussions with the flight crew, helicopter tours, touch-a-truck with Laurium and Calumet Townships’ fire departments, smokehouse, snacks, giveaways, and educational information. The event is free.

Participants are asked to park in the clinic or main entrance parking lot off Osceola Street. You’ll then be directed to the landing zone. For more information, contact Jenn Jenich-Laplander at 337-6541.

During any event, Aspirus MedEvac is still considered “in-service.” Should the need arise, the helicopter will leave to attend to patient transport. This may also cause MedEvac to arrive late or the need to cancel an appearance. In the event of inclement weather, this event will be rescheduled for Saturday, October 15, at 10:00 a.m.
