Remember to Moisturize!

Skin experts agree that one of the most important things you can do for your skin is to moisturize regularly. And don’t think this just means your face. You should apply moisturizer from above your eyebrows to your toes. As we age, our skin loses moisture. It is important to apply moisturizer daily if you want to maintain skin firmness, brightness and softness.

To make moisturizing a habit, moisturize at the same time every day. Moisturizing after your shower, while your skin is still damp, will help you lock in the most moisture. You may want to use a different moisturizer on the more fragile skin of your face than you do on the rest of your body. A moisturizer designed specifically for this delicate skin is best for your face.

To apply moisturizer, place a quarter-sized amount in the palm of your hand. Rub your palms together to warm it up. Using both hands, massage the lotion into your skin using circular motions. Repeat these steps until you have moisturized your entire body, including your heels and the balls of your feet.

The best moisturizers contain hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid locks in moisture so the skin is rehydrated. Hyaluronic acid can be found in water-based moisturizers. The lotions can be lightweight (great for combination and oily skin) to heavy (ideal for mature and dry skin).
