Aspirus Medford to Host Free Vein Health Education Program June 23

Millions of Americans live with vein conditions that can impact both comfort and overall health, yet many people don’t recognize the warning signs or understand available treatment options. To help address this, Aspirus Medford Hospital & Clinic is inviting the community to a free educational program focused on vein health.
The program, “Get a Leg Up on a Veiny Situation,” will take place at 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, in the Community Education Room at Aspirus Medford Hospital & Clinic.
More than 40 million Americans are affected by weak, damaged, or faulty veins, conditions that can lead to discomfort, swelling, and more serious health concerns if left untreated.
“Vein issues are more than cosmetic,” said Dr. Clint Semrau, general surgeon at Aspirus Medford.
“When vein valves don’t function properly, it can lead to spider veins, varicose veins, or more serious conditions such as chronic venous insufficiency and blood clots but the good news is that there are effective treatments available, especially when problems are identified early.”
During the session, Dr. Semrau will provide an overview of:
• Common vein conditions and symptoms
• Risk factors and when to seek care
• Advances in vein treatment and minimally invasive procedures
• Steps individuals can take to improve vein health
Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and learn how to access care close to home.
The event will be held at Aspirus Medford Hospital & Clinic, 135 S. Gibson Street, Medford. Light refreshments will be provided.
This program is free and open to the public. Advanced registration is encouraged by calling 715-748-8103 ext. 18413, though walk-ins are welcome on the day of the program.
