The Keweenaw Health Foundation (KHF) is helping ensure local residents have access to reliable health and wellness resources for years to come. With a generous $22,000 donation to the Aspirus Outpatient Therapies & Fitness Center - Calumet, the foundation is supporting the purchase of new fitness and therapy equipment that will benefit both members and patients across the region.
For decades, the Aspirus Fitness Center has been a trusted part of the community—offering flexible memberships, group fitness classes, personal training, and outpatient rehabilitation. This donation will help the center replace aging equipment and maintain a safe, supportive environment for people of all fitness levels and recovery stages.
“This is truly an investment that will strengthen community wellness for years to come,” said Jenn Jenich-Laplander, Executive Director of the Keweenaw Health Foundation. “We’re proud to support the Aspirus Outpatient Therapies and Fitness Center - Calumet that helps so many people—from those working on recovery to those simply trying to stay active and well.”
The updated equipment will enhance daily use for everyone who visits the center, providing dependable tools for exercise and rehabilitation. Whether someone is just beginning their fitness journey or continuing therapy after an injury, the improvements will help meet their needs.
“We are incredibly thankful for the Keweenaw Health Foundation’s continued partnership,” said Jeff Baril, Director - Regional Therapy Services. “This support allows us to maintain a high standard of care and wellness in the Copper Country. The new equipment will serve our friends, families, and neighbors for many years.”
Since moving to 25680 Copper King Way in Calumet in 2018, the Aspirus Outpatient Therapies & Fitness Center has expanded access to wellness with updated facilities, including locker rooms, saunas, and more private spaces for therapy and exercise. The center remains a vital resource for individuals of all ages looking to stay healthy and active close to home.
