Aspirus Welcomes Mental Health Therapist in Wisconsin Rapids

WISCONSIN RAPIDS - Aspirus Riverview Behavioral Health welcomes Kim Fairchild, MA, LPC, clinical mental health therapist.

Fairchild is specially trained in family, child, and adolescent counseling. She works collaboratively with other providers, community resources, and patient family members to create a supportive safety net for patients as they work toward recovery and wellness. She takes a special interest in assisting patients who are experiencing depression and anxiety, trauma and post-traumatic stress, mood disorders, and relationship issues.

“I approach my patients in a nonjudgmental, collaborative, and supportive way,” said Fairchild. “My focus is on getting to know my patients and working with them to create positive changes and moving away from despair and fear toward a life of overall wellness. We work together to identify and improve the patient’s supports and strengths to sustain the progress they make in therapy.”

Fairchild’s primary therapeutic frameworks are play therapy, art therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational enhancement, brain spotting, and client-centered approaches.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Fairchild earned a master of arts degree in community counseling from Lakeland University in Plymouth, WI and a bachelor of arts degree in social work from Wichita State University in Wichita, KS. She is a licensed professional counselor with the State of Wisconsin.

In her free time, Fairchild enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, watching Wisconsin sports teams, playing with her “herd of dogs,” reading, getting creative in her “she shed,” and gardening. A bowler for 35+ years, she has competed at the collegiate and professional level and has been a collegiate bowling coach.
