VIDEO: Ronald's Aspirus Story, "A New Lease on Life"

A visit to the doctor for stomach pains led to Ronald Zahnen, of Medford, learning his kidneys were failing and he would eventually need dialysis.

"When I first started dialysis, I was miserable," he says. "I was in pain." Thanks to a 53-pound weight loss, his treatments, and the support of Aspirus Kidney Care staff in Medford, Zahnen is now feeling much better. "It's a new lease on life for me," he says.

“This is a lifelong thing; you want to be around pleasant people,” Zahnen says of why he receives his dialysis at Aspirus Kidney Care - Medford. “Every patient is top priority for them. Everybody gets special treatment. Make every dialysis center around the country…just like Medford and all dialysis [patients would] be happy."
