Planned Giving

A planned gift made through your will or estate plan is one of the most personal gifts you can make and therefore one of the most meaningful gifts we can receive. A planned gift can be as simple and heartfelt as adding a bequest in your will or estate plan in support of Aspirus Health Foundation, or by adding the Aspirus Health Foundation as a beneficiary to your insurance policy, IRA or 401(k). Your planned gift may be designated to support the area or areas closest to your heart and have a lasting impact for generations to come. We encourage you to talk with your financial advisor or estate planner for guidance. Use our Legacy Gift Decision form as a guide as you consider this special gift.

Gifts of Stock and Appreciated Assets

Giving stock can sometimes be more beneficial than giving cash. If you make a gift of appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds, the IRS will allow you to avoid capital gains tax on any gains incurred since you bought the stock. We encourage you to talk with your financial advisor for more information.

Retirement Funds

Retirement funds like an IRA, 401(k) or 403(b) gifted to your heirs may be subject to substantial taxes but are tax-free to charity. Rather than naming your family as a beneficiary of your retirement plan, consider naming the Aspirus Health Foundation. You can then pass other assets that are not as highly taxed – including stocks, bonds and real estate – to your heirs. Additionally, if you are age 70 ½ or older, you may be able to save on income taxes by making a gift from your annual IRA Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). We encourage you to talk with your financial advisor or estate planner for more information.

Life Insurance

By gifting a life insurance policy or naming the Aspirus Health Foundation as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy, you can make a meaningful gift and provide a lasting legacy, while also reducing your taxable estate.

Corporate Giving

Through a corporate partnership, there are many opportunities for you to designate your contribution to meet the philanthropic goals of your company and give back in a way that is meaningful to the community. Many businesses also match donations made by their employees to double the impact of their gift. Ask if your employer has a matching gifts program.

Grateful Patient

Recognize a doctor, caregiver, staff member or volunteer who made a difference in your visit or stay by making a charitable gift of any size through our Aspirus HERO Program.

Tribute Gifts

Make a gift in honor or memory of a loved one. Consider a memorial donation to the Aspirus Health Foundation to the area you care about. Tribute gifts or a gift on someone’s birthday, Mother’s Day or Father’s Day, are a wonderful way to honor a family member or loved one.

In-Kind Donations

Making an in-kind gift is a meaningful way to support quality, compassionate health care for your community. Gifts may include medical equipment, supplies, toys for the smallest of our patients, blankets or shawls for hospice patients, food or supplies for the Aspirus Family House, or the gift of your time as a volunteer. Your gift can have an immediate impact and help us provide the highest level of care for those we serve. Click here for information about volunteering.
