Sustainability Success Story: 20+ Gallons of Hydroponic Lettuce Harvested for Enjoyment of Tivoli Assisted Living Residents
Aspirus Divine Savior’s vertical garden recently produced its first batch of beautiful lettuce. More than 20 gallons of lettuce was harvested for serving to Tivoli Assisted Living residents.
Located at Tivoli, the self-contained garden allows Aspirus Divine Savior to grow food locally through a sustainable, organic and hydroponic process. The vertical garden is part of Aspirus’ Sustainability Initiative and helps in reducing Aspirus’ carbon footprint and save in operational costs. A single garden unit can provide 7,260 servings of lettuce annually!
