Physical therapist Katie Zenner joins Aspirus Therapy & Fitness in Medford

Katie Zenner, DPT, Aspirus Therapy & Fitness - Medford

Aspirus Therapy & Fitness in Medford recently welcomed physical therapist Katie Zenner, DPT, to its team of therapy experts. Zenner is devoted to using physical therapy techniques to help patients improve their quality of life and return to the activities they love following illness, injury or surgery.

Zenner’s special interests include vestibular/balance retraining, dizziness and headaches, Parkinson’s disease, orthopedic manual therapy and post-surgical rehabilitation, especially rotator cuff rehab.

A caring and compassionate person, Zenner is great at finding ways to connect with or relate to all different types of people. “I look at each patient as if they were my mom/dad, grandma/grandpa, son/daughter or niece/nephew,” she said. “My favorite part about being a physical therapist is watching patients improve week by week and seeing them meet their functional goals. I make sure I emphasize education as part of my treatment to eliminate pain, maximize function and prevent future injury.”

Zenner earned her bachelor’s degree in biology and her doctorate in physical therapy from Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa. She performed a semester-long mentorship program at Aspirus Therapy & Fitness while in high school and did an internship at Aspirus during graduate school in both outpatient and inpatient physical therapy.

In her free time, Zenner enjoys curling, being outdoors four-wheeling and snowmobiling, cooking and baking. Family time is also very important to her. She and her husband, Alex, both grew up in Medford. The pair is now building a home on a more-than-100-year-old farmstead that once belonged to Alex’s grandparents. They look forward to raising their one-year-old son and newborn daughter on the family farm.
