Nurse practitioner Sheala Pinter now providing primary care at Aspirus Medford Clinic

Sheala Pinter, FNP, Aspirus Medford Clinic

Sheala Pinter, FNP, is now seeing patients at Aspirus Medford Clinic. A family medicine specialist, she provides primary health care services to people of all ages. A faithful and organized person who always has a smile on her face, she loves being able to educate others on their health and help them solve the problems that challenge their health.

“My priority is optimizing health and wellness for my patients and community,” Pinter said. “I believe this is best accomplished through education on prevention and self-care. Prevention of such devastating diseases like heart disease, hypertension and diabetes is what inspired me to be a nurse practitioner.”

Patients struggling with Lyme disease will find Pinter a valuable partner in their care. “My oldest son had Lyme disease when he was 11 years old and had difficulty with joint pain and swelling, finding it difficult to walk and get up from a chair at times,” Pinter said. “It took almost a year for him to completely recover. My master’s scholarly project was focused on management of post-treatment Lyme disease in primary care.”

Pinter also has a special interest in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression. “My late husband passed away eight years ago,” Pinter said. “He suffered for many years from PTSD and depression related to his time in the army, ultimately taking his own life. With depression and PTSD, it is not just the patient who suffers, but also the family. The primary care provider is often the first to recognize, manage and locate resources for these patients and their family. I want to do all I can to help them find answers.”

Pinter began her health care career in 1996 as a registered nurse. Among her experience is caring for intensive care unit, medical, cardiac, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy patients. She became a nurse practitioner in 2018, graduating from Concordia University in Mequon, Wis.

Pinter grew up in Dorchester, Wis., and graduated from Colby High School. A mother of five, she enjoys spending time with her family at the lake pontooning, skiing, snowmobiling and side-by-side trail riding. She also likes bowling, playing cards, traveling and watching her kids in their sports/activities. She recently married Seth Pinter, owner of Computer TR in Abbotsford, Wis.
