New surgical instruments for Aspirus Medford Hospital

Donors to the Aspirus Medford Foundation provided all of the funding to purchase a set of laparoscopic instruments and an Olympus endoscope for the benefit of Aspirus Medford Hospital’s surgical patients.

A laparoscope is a thin, lighted scope that magnifies images of the inside of the body and sends those images to a video screen. This particular set of tools is longer in length to allow for proper placement on heavier-set patients.

The endoscope will allow the hospital’s general surgeon, Dr. Clint Semrau, to provide the TIF® procedure – a minimally invasive treatment for patients experiencing chronic gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The TIF procedure is a long-term solution to GERD.

If you’d like to contribute to the Aspirus Medford Foundation, all donations, great and small, are graciously accepted to help heal people and promote health.
