New minimally invasive GERD procedure comes to Aspirus Medford

MEDFORD Wis. – Approximately 81 million people in the United States suffer from heartburn, chest pain, sleep deprivation, cough and/or regurgitation due to GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). GERD is one of the most prevalent and growing diseases in the United States.

Aspirus Medford Hospital is now offering the TIF® procedure with EsophyX® device – a minimally invasive treatment for patients experiencing chronic GERD symptoms. Aspirus Medford Hospital general surgeon Clint Semrau, DO, has performed the procedure for the past eight years and has seen significant improvement in the lives of his patients.

“The TIF procedure is a long-term solution to GERD and is incisionless, which offers patients a shorter recovery window,” Dr. Semrau said. “Patients can get on with their life – faster.”

If you’re suffering from symptoms of GERD, speak with your primary care provider about treatment options, including the TIF® procedure.
