Nekoosa Volleyball Helping Spike Out Cancer

WISCONSIN RAPIDS - The Nekoosa High School varsity volleyball team is once again helping local cancer patients through its annual fundraiser.

“The team was determined to bring back our fundraiser last year, and it’s their determination that more than doubled the proceeds for this year,” said Coach Ray Gutowski. “Cancer touches so many of us within our own volleyball family, friends, and neighbors; and this is our chance to help make a difference.”

Those attending the team’s Pink Night game in October had the opportunity to participate in various ways, including purchasing tickets for a chance to win the pink volleyball used during the varsity match. To participate next year, watch for the 2023-2024 game schedule to be posted on the Nekoosa Volleyball Facebook page.

Each member of the team strives to be that player other girls look up to. Giving to the Aspirus Riverview Foundation’s Cancer Patient Fund is just one example of how they rise by lifting others. Our community is fortunate to have a team of “aces” rallying for them.
