Megan Schroeder Wins DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses
PORTAGE, Wis. – Megan Schroeder is the winner of Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital & Clinics’ DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Megan is a registered nurse in the hospital’s post-anesthesia care unit. She was nominated by a grateful patient, who wrote:
I’m 81 years old and had cataract surgery... All of the Portage staff were welcoming and professional. I particularly met one wonderful nurse, Megan, who I would like to nominate for the DAISY Award. She sensed I was nervous, and she answered all my questions and put me and my wife at ease.
Megan was so kind, considerate, compassionate, and empathetic. She continually reassured me that all was going well. She was so knowledgeable and professional. Megan is a wonderful example of what a great nurse should be. I hope she gets to enjoy the cinnamon rolls! I enjoyed the thank you note from the staff too. What a nice touch! Sincerely grateful.
The DAISY Award recognizes the outstanding and extraordinary care nurses provide every day. DAISY Award winners and nominees exceed the needs and expectations of patients and families by displaying the Aspirus core values of Compassion, Accountability, Collaboration, Foresight and Joy.
