Battery recycling begins at Aspirus Keweenaw

Thanks to the efforts of its Green Team and the support of its Environmental Services and Facilities departments, Aspirus Keweenaw recently began a battery recycling program. Employees can now place batteries (AAA, AA, C, D, N, 9-V, Button) in containers for collection by the Facilities team and recycling. The metals and chemicals in batteries can negatively affect the environment in hundreds of ways, including contaminating soil and polluting water. Aspirus Keweenaw’s initiative will keep batteries out of landfills where they can do considerable damage to our environment.
