Aspirus Riverview Nurse Shelby Ligman Wins DAISY Award

Congratulations to Aspirus Riverview’s most recent DAISY Award winner, Shelby Ligman. Shelby is a registered nurse at Aspirus Riverview Family Birthplace in Wisconsin Rapids. The new mother who nominated Shelby for the award wrote:

I had my son on September 30, 2020, at Aspirus Riverview Hospital, where I received exemplary care! My care team during my entire stay consisted of several AMAZING nurses and support staff.

One of the nurses that stood out to me was Shelby. Shelby helped deliver our beautiful baby, and we really felt so very safe with her. During this birth, I was receiving my first-ever epidural, and she took every precaution very seriously, all while completing her tasks with the anesthesiologist AND taking on the daunting task of keeping me informed and calm.

Shelby was the epitome of a knowledgeable nurse that goes above and beyond; it's hard to even put into words how she made us feel. There is no price on peace of mind; and with the safety precautions and her calming demeanor, I truly believe that Aspirus Riverview Birthing Center is blessed to have such an amazing and dedicated employee. Shelby, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being YOU - for the care, education and compassion you showed us during our short stay. #Earthangel

The DAISY Award recognizes the super-human efforts nurses perform every day. Like Shelby, these nurses exceed the needs and expectations of patients and families by displaying the Aspirus core values of: Compassion, Accountability, Collaboration, Foresight and Joy.
