Aspirus offering drive-up lab services

Aspirus is implementing drive-up lab services at some of its locations for patients with chronic conditions and patients scheduled for surgeries and procedures.

Rather than having to enter a clinic or hospital facility for scheduled lab work and certain pre-surgery lab work, patients will have the alternative of utilizing the drive-up option that allows them to have labs taken without leaving their vehicle. The new option is being implemented in the following locations:
Antigo – Aspirus Langlade Hospital.
Wausau – Near the Aspirus clinics entrance at Plaza Drive on the Aspirus Wausau Hospital campus.
Wisconsin Rapids – Aspirus Doctors Clinic.

“As Aspirus continues increasing our care capacity from where we’ve been over the past couple months, people need lab work done before many surgeries and procedures can be performed,” said Matt Brewer, Vice President of Operations and Chief Nursing Officer of Aspirus Medical Group. “We recognize people still have concerns about various public interactions, so we want to give them alternative options to get the care they need in a safe, convenient way that also offers peace of mind.”

Patients who have surgeries or procedures scheduled at an Aspirus facility and need lab work done in advance will be offered the option of utilizing the drive-up option where applicable.  Patients will be contacted during the registration process to coordinate any necessary lab work, which is usually within two weeks of their scheduled procedure. Patients with chronic medical conditions who are due for follow-up lab services also will have this option.

Aspirus expects to expand its drive-up lab services at additional locations in the coming weeks.
