Aspirus Keweenaw aims to save water with rain sensors, mulch use
This spring, Aspirus Keweenaw installed rain sensors on its hospital and Houghton Clinic campus. The sensors allow for Aspirus Health’s irrigation system to only operate when weather conditions are dry, saving water. As another means of reducing water use, mulch was added to Aspirus Keweenaw’s garden areas for moisture control, allowing these areas to stay damp during the dry season.
