4-year-old earns "Hero Award"

MEDFORD, Wis. – Three numbers. That is all it took for 4-year-old Alivia Ovyn to save her grandmother. Aspirus Medford Hospital was so proud to award her with the “Hero Award” for her strength and bravery.

Ovyn helped her grandmother, Marilyn Ovyn, when she fell and broke her arm while spring cleaning at home. Alivia went and searched for her grandfather to call 9-1-1.

Dr. Troy Sennholz and Alyssa Busse, RN, (pictured below with Marilyn and Alivia Ovyn) helped treat Marilyn’s broken arm on the day of the accident and wanted to acknowledge Alivia for her bravery and quick thinking.
