Jersey Fund

The Jersey Fund is a collaborative effort to help bring extra comfort to oncology patients during their care. Funds are raised through student-organized activities and jersey silent auctions during the Calumet Copper Kings varsity boys hockey and the varsity girls basketball game on Athletes gear up in pink for both games. All proceeds will be used to create special comfort kits filled with useful items patients may need before, during and after their treatment. In previous years, proceeds helped to purchase iPads and warming blankets for patients to use while receiving treatment at Aspirus Keweenaw.

2015 Valentine’s Day massaCure Benefit for Cancer Care

The Calumet Copper Kings hockey and Girl’s Basketball teams will be wearing pink jerseys during the 2015 Valentines Mass-a-CURE Benefit for Cancer Care event. The Copper Kings will host the Houghton Gremlins on Monday February 16th, 2015 in basketball at the Calumet High School gym and February 17th, 2015 in hockey at the Calumet Colosseum. Last year’s event took in over $4,000 to help support cancer initiatives and part of the proceeds purchased Ipads for patients to use at Aspirus Keweenaw while receiving treatment.

The Keweenaw Health Foundation, which supports Aspirus Keweenaw and our community, along with sponsor support will help the Kings in their efforts by having a silent auction of the hockey jerseys, t-shirt sales donations buckets at the game. Proceeds from the event will go to the Keweenaw Health Foundation under the restricted cancer fund to support cancer care in the Keweenaw.

2013 Valentine’s Day massaCure Benefit for Cancer Care

The Calumet Copper Kings hockey and Girl’s Basketball teams will be wearing pink jerseys during the 2013 Valentine Mass-a-CURE Benefit for Cancer Care event. The Copper Kings will host the Houghton Gremlins in a basketball and hockey doubleheader on Monday, February 11th with the basketball game starting @ 5:45pm at the high school gym with the hockey game to follow @ 7:30pm at the Calumet Colosseum. Last year’s event took in over $5,500.00 to help support cancer initiatives here in the Keweenaw.

The Keweenaw Health Foundation, which supports Aspirus Keweenaw and our community, along with sponsor support will help the Kings in their efforts by having a silent auction of the hockey jerseys during the game. There will also be a team poster for sale of both the hockey and basketball team that the players will be available after the game to sign as well as a limited number of commemorative t-shirts for the event for sale at both venues. Proceeds from the event will go to the Keweenaw Health Foundation under the restricted cancer fund to support cancer care in the Keweenaw.

2012 Valentine’s Day massaCure Benefit for Cancer Care

The Calumet Copper Kings hockey and Girl’s Basketball teams will be wearing pink jerseys during the 2012 Valentine’s Day MassaCURE Benefit for Cancer Care event. The Copper Kings will host the Houghton Gremlins at the Calumet Colosseum on Tuesday, February 14th @ 7pm and the Copper King basketball team will be hosting West Iron Co. at the Calumet High School gym on Thursday, February 16th @ 7:20pm. Last years event took in over $4,100.00 to help support cancer initiatives here in the Keweenaw.

Keweenaw Health Foundation, which supports Aspirus Keweenaw and our communities, along with local businesses will help the Kings in their efforts by having a silent auction of the hockey jerseys during the game as well as silicon event wristbands and team trading card sets for sale that the players will be available after the game to sign. For the basketball game, the wristbands will also be available along with pink mini basketballs commemorating the event available for sale that the players will be available after the game to sign. Proceeds from the event will go to the Keweenaw Health Foundation under the restricted cancer fund to support cancer care and the oncology program through the Keweenaw Cancer and Blood Center at the hospital in Laurium.”
