Volunteer Programs & Outreach

The following programs are financially supported by the volunteers at Aspirus Wausau Hospital:

  • Lifeline – Through the efforts of our volunteers, more than 400 personal emergency response units are provided to subscribers of the Lifeline Program throughout Marathon County and the city of Marshfield, on a rental basis.
  • Rainbow's End Day Camp – This camp, sponsored by the Aspirus Health Foundation and supported by volunteer funding, offers a unique summer camp experience in July for children with special needs ages 5 – 21. Learn more about this program and how you can apply to volunteer with Rainbow's End.
  • Safe Kids Wausau Area – Volunteer funding helps support the Safe Kids Wausau Area Coalition, helping to promote children’s safety initiatives such as child passenger safety, helmet safety, water safety and other programs. 
  • Scholarships – Up to $8,500 is awarded annually to graduating active Aspirus Volunteens. Individual scholarships awarded in the amount of $500. Conditions apply.
  • Student Talent Art Review (STAR) – Local high school students submit artwork to be judged.  Winning entries are professionally matted, framed and hung at Aspirus Wausau Hospital for 12 months.
