What is ADAPT?

ADAPT is a lifestyle modification program that teaches you about healthy eating, activity and behavior change to help you make positive life choices to achieve and maintain weight loss. By developing healthier habits you have the ability to take control of your health and decrease the impact of many chronic diseases. ADAPT is available only at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Program Classes

The educational and fun ADAPT program groups learn about a variety of topics to help you ADAPT to your new healthier life. Classes focus on behavior change through:

  • Managing stress and coping with triggers.
  • Physical activity. Participants have the opportunity to exercise in a supervised setting prior to class.
  • Focusing on Mediterranean-like diet principles
  • Self-monitoring weight, waist circumference, activity duration and calorie intake
  • Ways to stay motivated

How To Get Started

Participants pay a fee of $200 for the 12 core sessions that comprise the year long program. Program fee includes all materials.

Classes are held at Aspirus Wausau Hospital for approximately an hour and typically start at 5 p.m.
