Girl Scout Badge & Patch Programs
Aspirus is a community partner with Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes, Inc., which serves more than 24,000 girls in 58 counties throughout northern Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Through the partnership, Aspirus is using its vast resources to offer Girl Scout programs that educate girls and young women about healthy living and major health concerns that could have an impact on their lives.
The programs available at Aspirus are:
-
Highway to Health Junior Badge Program – For Girl Scouts in grades 4-5
-
Breast Cancer Awareness Patch Program – For Girl Scouts in grades 6-12 and adult Girl Scouts.
-
Safety Wise Patch Program – For Girl Scouts in grades K-3.
All programs will be offered on an ongoing, quarterly basis and require a $7 registration fee.
Each Aspirus program focuses on three main themes:
-
Discover – Girl Scouts will increase their knowledge base about key health areas that may affect them throughout their lives. They will come away with tools to empower them to safeguard their health by making proactive lifestyle choices.
-
Connect – Girl Scouts will complete group and individual activities involving friends, family, and women they will meet for the first time. Each of these groups will be involved in art, writing or sewing projects and various activities that ask Girl Scouts to reach out and share their new knowledge with others.
-
Take Action – Girl Scouts will make a commitment to educate at least three important women in their lives by using what they have learned from each program.
