Cardiac Calcium Score Screening
DETECT HEART DISEASE EARLY - BEFORE YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS
Aspirus Heart & Vascular Institute encourages you to take the necessary steps to keep your heart strong and healthy.
Cardiac calcium scans can detect the earliest signs of heart disease even before symptoms occur. The test uses a CT scanner to measure the amount of calcified plaque in your heart’s arteries, and establishes a calcium score based on the volume and density of any calcium deposits found.
• The procedure takes approximately 30 minutes to perform.
• Requires no needles, cutting or sedation.
• Recommended for men and women over 40 with risk factors for developing cardiovascular disease.
This screening does not require a doctor’s order, and is provided at Aspirus Imaging Center, which is located at 3200 Westhill Drive in Wausau.
If you’ve had a heart attack, coronary bypass surgery, angioplasty with or without stent placement, you likely don’t need this test.
Payment is due at time of testing.
