Lung Cancer - Limited Small Cell

Trial Name: Phase III Comparison of Thoracic Radiotherapy Regimens in Patients with Limited Small Cell Lung Cancer also Receiving Cisplatin and Etoposide.

Eligibility:

Eligibility:

  • Histologically or cytologically documented small cell lung cancer.
  • No prior radiotherapy or chemotherapy for SCLC.
  • No prior mediastinal or thoracic radiotherapy.
  • Patients with complete surgical resection of disease are not eligible.
  • Age > 18 years of age.
  • Patients can not be pregnant or breast-feeding while participating in this study.
  • Patient must meet required laboratory values.

Enrollment: • About 670 people

Benefits:

  • Taking part in this study may or may not make your health better.  The participants who are assigned to the higher doses of radiation therapy may or may not benefit from the extra treatments.  We do know that the information from this study will help researchers learn more about whether or not the extra treatment offers any further benefit.  This information could help future cancer patients.
