The MedEvac Bell 407 helicopter is equipped to handle most any emergency situation.

The integration of speed, performance and maneuverability provide a smooth ride with quieter operation. The 407’s four-bladed rotor system provides excellent hover performance and speed. It is also ideal for extreme environments: high altitudes, arctic conditions or even the hottest locales.

The MedEvac Bell 407 is equipped with sophisticated safety gear including night-vision goggles, satellite tracking, and enhanced operational control.

The MedEvac helicopter is owned, operated,and maintained by PHI, Inc. of Lafeyette, LA.

Lifesaving equipment on board the aircraft includes cardiac monitors, defibrillator, suction unit, ventilator, infusion pumps, cardiac pacemakers, pulse oximeters, oxygen, patient headset, and a full range of advanced life support pharmaceuticals.


Aspirus MedEvac Ground Transportation

Aspirus MedEvac also operates three critical care ground transfer ambulances from ground bases in Medford, Rhinelander and Weston, Wis. The ambulances are staffed with Critical Care Paramedics, Registered Nurses and EMTs.

Aspirus MedEvac also participates in the ALS intercept service. As needed, two specially equipped SUV vehicles can provide intercepts for area Basic Life Support agencies.

During patient transport they are in continuous contact with Aspirus Wausau Hospital’s Emergency Department Medical Control. The patient is monitored by a registered nurse and a paramedic during transport.
